All standard shipping on purchases over £200 made via the shopping cart of this website is free of charge. We may request additional payment in the event that your shipping needs are unusual or extremely specialised.

All purchases are packed for shipping to a very high standard.

Adrian Harrington Ltd is a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association, also known as the ABA. It is the oldest such organisation in the World and was founded in 1906. We are also affiliated dealers of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers, also known as ILAB. ILAB is the International organisation which consists of 22 National Associations representing some 33 Countries and nearly 2,000 affiliated dealers. We are also members of the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association, also known as the PBFA. We are proud to abide by the codes of ethics and good practice of these great organisations. In addition, Jon Gilbert, our resident James Bond/Ian Fleming specialist is a member of the Ian Fleming Foundation. A not for profit organisation, it is dedicated to the preservation of the literary legacy of the author Ian Fleming.

All our books are fully described by our staff and are shipped on approval. In the unlikely event of a purchase proving unsatisfactory, it may be returned, in its original condition, for a full refund. We would ask that you notify us by email of your intention to return within 7 working days of receipt of the parcel.

Our Terms:

1. All items are subject to prior sale.

2. All items are guaranteed as described.

3. Refunds are limited to the original price paid.

4. Any item ordered through our website, catalogue or other means may be returned, subject to our being informed of this intention within 30 working days of receipt if unsatisfactory.

5. All items remain the property of Adrian Harrington Ltd until fully paid for.

6. All packages will be shipped via Royal Mail, or a courier service, depending on the size, weight and value of the book/s. We routinely use Royal Mail for all orders under 2kg, Parcelforce for UK orders over 2kg, and ICR Worldwide Express for orders over 2kg to the rest of the world. Packages going by ICR will ship on the Thursday following the day the order is placed, i.e. an order placed on Tuesday will ship on the Thursday of the same week, but an order placed on a Wedsnesday evening after business hours will ship on Thursday the following week.

7. We accept payment by cash, credit card, debit card, charge card, paypal, BACS, wire transfer or any other agreed means. Cheques may be accepted from known customers.

Tax & Shipping

Additional Taxes:

In the UK printed books, magazines and maps are all zero rated for VAT purposes.

At this time, any applicable international customs duties or local sales taxes incurred by purchase through our website are the responsibility of the buyer. This is because of the increasing complexity of international customs and exercise requirements - we simply cannot be registered and file taxes in every international jurisdiction in the world.

Free Shipping:

The offer of free shipping is for direct website orders over £200 only and may not be used in conjunction with any other offer or deal. UK delivery times are usually 2 - 3 working days. Delivery times overseas are approximately 7 - 10 working days.

All of our books are expertly packed and shipped fully insured. Shipping and insurance is free for all items ordered directly from our website shopping cart. Items will be sent via standard Royal Mail , Parcelforce or ICR services and will require a signature on receipt. We ship worldwide.


Urgent deliveries can be arranged on an individual basis. We will be happy to supply you with an estimate of costs.

Returns

Any item purchased from this website will be subject to the Consumer Contracts Regulations, October 2015. These regulations entitle you to return the item purchased within 30 days of receipt. If you do so, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery. We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss resulted from unnecessary handling by you.  We we will reimburse you within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned them. Libraries and institutions

Libraries and institutions may arrange deferred billing on request.
