Attractive hand-bound in tan half calf, red label, gilt titles and decoration to spine, raised bands, marbled paper-covered boards, edge untrimmed. Contents clean, minor toning. A nice tall copy in an attractive recent leather binding. Carl Wilhelm Paijkull, D.Phil., was a Swedish geologist and writer. As associate professor of mineralogy at the University of Uppsalla, Sweden, he made a trip to Iceland in 1865, which he described in A Summer in Iceland (1866). A keen an avid Scandinavian, he was an advocate of the work of the Nordic National Association. Item #76343
