Marked 'FOR LIMITED DISTRIBUTION NOT FOR SALE'. A clean, fresh copy which appears to be unread. No proof copies were issued for any of Benson's Bond titles in the UK, and only a handful of proofs appear to have been produced in America. Unlike the previous titles in proof, this has illustrated rather than plain covers. The proof includes errors and differences to the published hardback. Given by the author to his friend, the James Bond historian James M. Pickard, whose name was appropriated by the author for a character in his debut novel 'Zero Minus Ten'. A nice association.
