Publisher's illustrated softcovers designed by Raymond Hawkey, without printed prices to rear (intended for sale overseas). Cheap paper stock a little tanned as usual, covers show some trivial wear, rubber stamp with an international price '4/50' within. This is the first unpriced covers copy we have handled, and comes from the archive of Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert (pencil ownership within). This is Kingsley Amis' first venture into the world of James Bond. He also wrote the light-hearted 'Book of Bond' in 1965 and the first post-Fleming 007 novel 'Colonel Sun'. Item #76258
