Sextodecimo (14 x 11cm), pp.85 [1]. With a chromolithographic illustration by Potter facing every page of text. Colour illustrated endpapers (Quinby, plate II). Publisher's light brown paper-covered boards with green titles to spine and upper board. A colour-illustrated roundel laid onto upper board. Illustrated endpapers. Binding a little weak, with some spotting to edges. Spine toned and a little rubbed, with some abrasion also to lower board. An attractive very good copy. The first edition, first issue, with misspelling of "muffatees" for "muffetees" to page 15, and correct frontispiece. The follow-up to Peter Rabbit, and essentially a sequel to that story, featuring Peter and his stubborn cousin Benjamin, as the pair return to Mr. McGregor's garden to retrieve the clothes lost there during their previous adventure.
