SCARCE FIRST APPEARANCE of 'The Vampire of The Village'; one of the most elusive Father Brown stories which this was not included in any of the original books- the final volume 'The Scandal of Father Brown' was published one year earlier, so did not contain this story- it has since been included in the Omnibus 'The Father Brown Stories' (Cassell, 1953) and was eventually included in an edition of 'Scandal' in 1978. This issue also contains a Mr. Campion mystery 'The White Elephant' by Margery Allingham. Item #74398
