With the yellow typographic dust-jacket, priced at 8/6. Green ink ownership to verso of fly-leaf, dated 1954. Some toning and light spotting to edges and endpapers, otherwise internally clean. Spine sunned, with oxidation to the gilt. Jacket a little faded to panels, with heavier toning and some wear to spine. Very good. The author's second novel. Set in Edwardian London, 'Night and Day' contrasts the daily lives of two friends, Katharine Hilbery and Mary Datchet, examining the relationships between love, marriage, happiness, and success.
