Ray Coleman [1937–1996] was the former editor-in-chief of Melody Maker and a regular contributor to other music magazines including Disc, Black Music, Musicians Only, and Billboard. As a respected author and noted authority he was responsible for ten music biographies including the lives of Lennon, McCartney and Brian Epstein as well as co-writing Stone Alone (with Bill Wyman).
