"There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. "
— Oscar Wilde
USA: Allied Artists, 1972. [Movie Memorabilia] A set of eight numbered lobby cards for the film 'Cabaret' directed by Bob Fosse starring Liza Minnelli and Michael York, based on stories by Christopher Isherwood. Colour printed stills on card stock measuring 8 x 10 inches (the less common size for US), with production credits to lower margin (8). Reverse sides clean, one card with small tape marks to rear, one with small chip to corner. Very good indeed. A camp musical extravaganza and a huge box-office hit which won eight Oscars, seven Baftas and three Golden Globes. The film has been regularly voted among the greatest ever made and is listed as one of the most important for queer cinema for its depictions of bisexuality. It has been credited with turning Liza Minnelli into a gay icon. Note on Format: the Lobby Card is a small poster or titled still printed on card stock, usually 8 x 10 inches (UK and Europe) or 11 x 14 inches (US) in a landscape view. Generally produced in sets of eight in colour for Britain and America, intended for display in a cinema foyer or lobby. Item #71395
