A reproduction of the Paris edition of 1697 in the original French, with a large critical introduction by Lang in English, each section with a frontispiece portrait of Perrault. Publisher's quarter vellum, with gilt titles to spine, and red cloth over boards. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Illustrated armorial bookplate of Philip Lyttelton Gell to front pastedown, with a touch of toning and spotting to first and final few leaves. Some toning to vellum, and moderate general wear to cloth. Very good. The tales comprise: 'The Sleeping Beauty'; 'Little Red Ridding Hood'; 'Blue Beard'; 'Puss in Boots'; 'Toads and Diamonds'; 'Cinderella'; 'Riquet of the Tuft'; and 'Hop o' my Thumb.'. Item #69007
