Publisher's dark grey cloth with yellow titles to red backing on the spine. With the illustrated dust-jacket, priced at 12/6. Light toning and spotting to edges and endpapers, otherwise internally clean. Jacket shows a little toning to spine, with some wear and chipping to head and tail. Near fine. Billed as a follow-up to Auden and MacNeice's 'Letters from Iceland' (1937), this hybrid production combines poems and photographs by Auden with Isherwood's diary of a four-month trip to China during the Second Sino-Japanese War, to create a multifaceted picture of the conflict.
