"Everything in the world exists in order to end up as a book"
— Stephan Mallarme
London: Sampson Low, Marston and Co., 1962. [Illustrated Children's Literature] FIRST EDITION, rare in dust-jacket. Octavo (26 x 22), pp.24 (unpaginated). Publisher's red quarter cloth bound with illustrated boards, illustrated dust-jacket with printed price of 6s to front flap. Pictorial endpapers, illustrations throughout. Previous owners gift note to flyleaf, ownership page filled in and covered with a label, some wearing to upper board, bumping to corners, rolling to spine, 10cm tear to jacket spine, tearing to jacket which has been repaired with tape (including cellotape, which has now mostly been removed). Very good. This book is rare in the dust-jacket, and it is a more unusual Noddy title. This book was originally aimed at 'young readers' due to their 'amusing rhymes and bright pictures'. Please note, there is racist imagery throughout (very frequently) that may be offensive to modern readers. Item #66759
