Publisher's red cloth, gilt titles to spine and upper, blind stamped 'revolutionary mob motif' and laid on illustration to same. Black ink gift inscription to front pastedown. Slightly shaken, with a little toning and spotting to edges, otherwise internally clean. Spine a little sunned, with some light general wear to cloth. Very good. The elusive Pimpernel returns for another swashbuckling adventure in El Dorado; the still-raging French Revolution continues to claim lives, and the shadow of the guillotine draws ever nearer to the the young Dauphin, son of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
