Evelyn Beatrice Sainte Croix Fleming (1885-1964), wife of Valentine Fleming, MP. Eve ('Mrs. Val'), was an English socialite known for her flamboyant beauty and being the mother of James Bond writer Ian Fleming. Eve Fleming's nickname from her son Ian was M, and Ian may have used his relationship with her as a model for M, the fictional head of the British Secret Service (and James Bond's boos) in his popular adventure novels. Later part of Jon Gilbert's bibliographical archive of Ian Fleming, with his pencilled ownership signature. Item #66541
