Publisher's dark blue cloth lettered and decorated in gilt to upper board and spine, bevelled edges. Eight halftone illustrations by Browne, including a tissue-guarded frontispiece. Archival repairs to pg.55, archival tape applied to plate opposite pg.83, toning to endpapers and textblock edges, wear to crown and base of spine, bumping to corners. Very good. Boothby was an Australian novelist and writer, noted for his prolific amount of writing which was published in a variety of magazines towards the end of the 19th Century. Item #65834
