London: Raphael Tuck and Sons, c.1920s. [Children's illustrated] FIRST EDITIONS, rare complete set of 6 volumes. Small octavos (9 x 8cm), all unpaginated. With numerous in-text line illustrations. Publisher's pictorial paper in red, blue, and yellow over boards. Leaves lightly toned, spotting to some. Tape repairs to guttering in one or more places to all volumes. Toning and light spotting to edges. Rubbing and wear to boards and spines. Tearing to extremities, mostly on Binky Barker and Mikey Moke. Good. A rare set of animal tales from the now defunct publisher's Raphael Tuck and Sons, famous for its art postcards such as the 1903 Oilette series of miniature paintings. The firm was partially destroyed during the Blitz and never managed to fully recover. Item #64280
