Publisher's light tan cloth with titles blocked in grey to spine. With the grey typographic dust-jacket, priced at 25s. Light toning to edges and some offsetting to endpapers. Jacket sunned to spine, with moderate wear and chipping to edges, and two very large tears to the front cover. Very good. First published in 1937, and described as 'the chanson de gestes of the... Welsh Cockney in the Great War.' Considered one of the best books on the Great War at the time, it won the Hawthorden Prize in 1938. Item #60615
