London: Printed for John Bumpus, 1822. [Poetry] FINELY BOUND. Duodecimo in half-sheets (16 x 11cm), pp.[2] xxiv; 192 [4]. With a frontispiece portrait of the author, and an introductory biography by Aikin. Contemporary tan full calf, with gilt titles to a black label, further gilt decoration to spine, and gilt panelled decoration to boards. All edges gilt; marbled endpapers. Small green bookseller's label of S. Simms, Bath, to front pastedown. Some offsetting to title page, otherwise a lovely clean copy. Light general wear to binding, with marking from the diced calf or cloth of another book to upper. Very good. A series of four blank verse poems which first appeared between 1726 and 1730, by the Scottish author responsible for the well known lyrics of 'Rule, Britannia!' set to music by Thomas Arne in 1740.
