Publisher's red cloth, with gilt titles to spine and upper, and patterned endpapers. Ink ownership to half-title, some spotting, edges toned, contents shaken within the case. Fairly light wear and a few marks to cloth; spine a bit sunned. Very good. A classic fantasy adventure about the Sultan Salah ad-Din's famous twelfth century campaign against the crusader states, which resulted in a devastating Muslim victory at the Battle of Hattin in 1187. Conceived during Haggard's trip to Cyprus and the Holy Land in 1900, and serialised in Cassell's Magazine from December 1903. Item #57975
