With a folding map and 133 engravings taken from the author's photographs and sketches. Errata slip to contents. Publisher's green cloth with gilt and black titles, and gilt, grey and brown decoration to spine and upper. All edges gilt, with brown-patterned endpapers. Repairs to split hinges. Black ink gift inscription to recto of frontispiece, dated 1983. Tissue guard for frontispiece removed. Some large tears and creases to folding map of Ireland. Contemporary black ink gift inscription upside-down to rear fly-leaf. Light occasional spotting, with some heavier spotting and browning to map and preliminaries. Heavy wear to spine and board edges, with bumped corners. Fraying to head and tail of spine. Good. Item #57740
