With 10 colour plates including a frontispiece, as well as numerous in-text illustrations by the author. Publisher's address given as 26 East 22d Street, making this edition no earlier than 1920. Endpapers decorated in purple. Publisher's blue paper-covered boards with a large circular colour illustration laid over upper board, and titles in white to spine and upper board. With the rare original glassine jacket. Crossed-out black ink ownership to flyleaf. Lightly browned. Very light bumping to board edges. Jacket browned and brittle, with a number of large chips and tears. Near fine. An Edwardian parable gently touching on concerns of race and class, in which a cat learns it is best not to associate too closely with dogs. First Published in 1905. Item #53951
