With a total of 83 engraved plates by various artists, including a frontispiece and vignette title page to each volume, and a facsimile example of Burns' handwriting. Text printed in two columns. Contemporary blue full morocco with raised bands, gilt titles to spines, and some restrained decoration in gilt and blind. All edges gilt; green watered-silk-effect endpapers. Plates quite clean, but text browned. Light rubbing and bumping to bindings. All plates present, but a few misbound according to the plate lists. Spines and joints re-coloured; lower joint of volume I just starting. Very good. Item #53800
