New York, NY: Simon and Schuster, 1986. [Politics] INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. Octavo (25 x 17cm), pp.484; , blank. Publisher's hardback cloth, printed dust-wrapper priced $19.95. Later printing. With warm presentation note to half-title; "For Sheila MacKellow | with every good wish from | Julie Nixon Eisenhower | July 1988". With original transit label in the author's hand, with her printed return address, loosely inserted. A very good copy in similar wrapper. A biography of First Lady Pat Nixon, from the "First Daughter" of American politics. The recipient was a devout British Christian and a correspondent of President Nixon who first wrote to him with words of support during the Watergate crisis. A friendship flourished, their letters continued, and she received several inscribed books as gifts. Upon Mrs Mackellow's death her collection was either unsuccessful or withdrawn from public auction and subsequently acquired by ourselves via her solicitor. A nice association. Item #53445
