Dark green polished calf binding, with raised bands and gilt decoration to spine, gilt titles to red label on spine, gilt to boards, yellow endpapers, all edges gilt. Forest Proprietary Grammar School crest to both boards and prize bookplate to pastedown. Engraved frontispiece of a young Bonaparte. Slight toning to preliminaries. Binding lightly rubbed to extremities, corners bumped. Very good. Originally published in 1824 as, 'Histoire de la Revolution Francaise'. Francois Mignet was a French journalist turned historian, and first wrote for the 'Courrier Francais', a journal that opposed the restoration of the monarchy. Item #52340
