Ruhleben, 1915. FIRST EDITION. Octavo pamphlet, pp. 32. Blue pictorial wraps. Some toning to paper, wraps have detached along the spine and have some nicks along the edges. Very good, a fascinating survival. Campaign book for the election of an M.P. representing Ruhleben internment camp, just west of Berlin, which housed mainly British citizens caught up in Germany at the outbreak of war and was largely internally self-governed. Among the candidates were Israel Cohen, later a leading Zionist, and Rueben Castang, later a circus trainer. Castang went on to win the election representing the Suffragette Party. Item #46214
