Includes the first appearance of Flaxman Low's 'Real Ghost Stories' with 75 illustrations; only 12 were published in the book-form edition of 1899, itself a scarce object! Also contains tales from Baroness Orczy, Max Pemberton, C.C. Hyne (Capt. Kettle), Frank Aubrey and others, together with the usual period articles on ballooning, railways, travel and other pastimes and technologies (Ocean cables etc.), plus a fascinating interview with the inventor Nikola Tesla.
