First issue calls for sewn catalogue dated the month of publication which was August 1880. Other copies noted with later Sept. and October ads, inserted. The present copy features earlier JUNE adverts, which are sewn. 8vo., pps. (xxiii) + 564. With 314 illustrations by W. Fr. Brown, True Williams, B. Day and other Artists, "with also three or four pictures made by the author of this book without outside help". A presentable copy in original pictorial red cloth, showing general wear, some soiling to covers, bumped/rubbed, spine sunned, text shaken within case, some spotting. Overall a good/very good copy of an unusual example. Item #22325
