The Waves.

London: The Hogarth Press, 1931. [Modern literature] FIRST EDITION, first impression. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.325. Publisher's purple cloth with titles in gilt to spine, in the Vanessa Bell designed dust-jacket, priced at 7/6. Contemporary book review (news clipping) tucked in. No inscriptions, contents clean and fresh, some trivial spots of foxing to the edge of text block, spine and part of covers sunned, jacket with some discreet and well-executed restoration, now showing as a bright, complete example. The Waves is Woolf's most experimental novel, consisting of soliloquies spoken by the book's six characters; Bernard, Susan, Rhoda, Neville, Jinny, and Louis, and charts their journey from childhood to adulthood.
