Large octavo (28 x 22cm), pp.275; [1]. Orange cloth over boards in dust-jacket. Signed by way of a book label to half title. Fine in near fine, slightly edge worn jacket. Issued simultaneously with the British softcover, this hardcover is much more elusive. In over thirty years experience dealing in Bond books we have seen only a handful of copies; speculatively the ratio appears to be around 1:20 [hardback:softcover]. The author's highly acclaimed first book, originally published in New York and nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Biographical/Critical Work in 1984. Raymond Benson was later the author of the official James Bond 'continuation' series from 1997-2002, appointed by Glidrose Publications (now Ian Fleming Publications Limited). Item #65030
