The Mirror Crack'd.

New York, NY: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1963. [Crime Mystery] FIRST US EDITION. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.[8] 246 [2]. Publisher's yellow paper over boards with black titles to spine. With the black dust-jacket illustrated by Salem Tamer, priced at $3.75. A little toned and spotted to edges, and some wear to binding extremities, otherwise a crisp, clean copy. Jacket worn and chipped to edges, with some creasing to front panel. Very good. A Miss Marple mystery, set in the sleepy village of St. Mary Mead, which seems throughout the years to have been the venue of more carnage than Cheapside during the Black Death. Basis for the all-star movie with Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, Tony Curtis, Angela Lansbury, Kim Novak, Edward Fox, and in a very early uncredited role, Pierce Brosnan. This novel was dedicated to Margaret Rutherford, who was the first actress to bring Miss Marple to life on the big screen. Item #62267
