"Books are a hardbound drug with no danger of overdose. I am the happy victim of books."
— Karl Lagerfeld

London: Hodder and Stoughton Limited, no date [1912]. [Children's Illustrated] REVISED 'BEST' EDITION. Quarto (29 x 22cm), pp.[8] 126 [2]. With 50 chromolithographic plates by Rackham, including a frontispiece, as well as further occasional wood engravings. Recently rebound in green half morocco with raised bands, gilt titles and decoration to spine, and green cloth over boards. Top edge gilt, others trimmed. Light occasional spotting. Very good. First published in 1906, Rackham's illustrations for Peter Pan were reprinted several times before this new 1912 edition was produced, with several new illustrations, including a new frontispiece. Considered the best edition of this title, being in a larger format with the plates now bound throughout the text in their proper order, rather than grouped together at the end; it also includes the first appearance of the new colour frontispiece.
