Stated 'First Edition', with the depression mark to the rear board denoting the Book Club issue (as the vast majority seem to be). Publisher's cloth-covered boards, in original jacket. Some edge wear to jacket, frayed to spine ends, one chip to crown. Spine colouring remains quite strong on this one- the deep blue background is notorious for fading to a light blue. This is the VARIANT BINDING with a grey cloth backstrip; most copies are noted with a light blue cloth spine. See bibliography, page 551. Rather scarce thus. Item #61682
