A clean, crisp copy, some spotting to first and last leaves, neat ownership to flyleaf, endpapers split along upper hinge but still firmly bound. Cloth very lightly handled. A particularly fresh example. Near fine. The naturalist's second book on evolutionary theory, first published in two volumes in 1871, following the landmark 'Origin of Species' (1859).
