Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles to spine, a gilt bison stamped to upper, and blind decoration to boards. Black ink gift inscription to verso of flyleaf, dated 1859. Quite well thumbed, with a touch of spotting and a few small tears. Moderate wear to cloth, with some fraying to head and tail of spine. Very good. First published in 1844, with just a handful of copies of any edition in UK libraries. Item #61171
