With 61 engraved plates, including a frontispiece to volume I and eight coloured maps, some folding. Bound in highly attractive contemporary marbled calf, with gilt titles and decoration to spines. All edges speckled brown. Plate of Bridge at Constantine bound in facing p.1272. Plate facing p.1359 shows a neat repair to a 12cm tear. Spotting to endpapers, frontispiece and facing leaves; otherwise a lovely crisp, clean copy. Light wear and bumping to binding. Near fine. Item #60757
