With the dust-jacket illustrated by John Rose, priced at 12/6. Together with the original artwork hand-painted by Rose (31 x 25cm), with original notes in ink and pencil to backing board. Presented in a custom-made fleece-lined black quarter morocco clamshell box, with gilt titles to spine and black cloth over sides. Total dimensions 35 x 28cm. Just a touch of spotting to endpapers, and some wear to jacket edges. Artwork in lovely bright condition, with some wear due to its original use. Near fine. A unique presentation of the 39th Arthur Crook crime novel. Somewhat reminiscent of tough TV detective Gene Hunt, he sports "a bright red face, bright red hair and a bright red car," and takes an alarmingly direct approach to finding the truth. Item #60732
