London: Jonathan Cape, 1967. [Young Bond] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.175; , blank. Illustrated by Christopher Chamberlain. Publisher's black cloth blocked to the spine in gilt, cartographic endpapers, pictorial jacket priced at 16s. Although an officially licensed spin-off, 003½: The Adventures of James Bond Junior is considered a failed attempt at launching a youth-oriented line of fiction aimed at 8 to 14 year olds. A moderately successful TV cartoon series by the same name was, produced by EON Productions (1991), and in 2005, unrelated to 003½, Ian Fleming Publications published a successful youth-oriented line of 'Young Bond' adventures by Charlie Higson, featuring James Bond the schoolboy. The UK edition precedes the US first printing. Item #60607
