London: Century, 1991. [Children's illustrated] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (25 x 17cm), pp.24. Quentin Blake illustrations throughout, some in colour. Publisher's dark blue cloth in pictorial dust-wrapper priced at £6.99. Mildly handled. A few small marks to jacket. Near fine. Old pencil prices to half title, which we have not attempted to erase. The clay paper is notorious for bruising and leaving a 'shine' when rubbed. A short novel: Reverend Lee doesn't realise that his dyslexia is affecting his sermons. His parishioners are at first amused and then shocked by the garbled messages coming from the pulpit. Finally a cure is found. The Vicar must walk backwards for the rest of his life! More amazing nonsense from an absolute genius storyteller. Roald Dahl received the World Fantasy Award [Lifetime Achievement] in 1983. Item #60437
