Black and white photographs on glossy photographic paper, each with the photographer's studio stamp to reverse. Glue marks to reverse of each photograph. The eight photographs by Park are of a uniform size, with light handling only. The single slightly larger photography by Coster has tears and some loss to the top left corner and the bottom right corner. Very good. A selection of press photographs from a star-studded production of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' in 1935, directed by John Gielgud, and staring himself and Laurence Olivier interchangeably in the lead roles of Romeo and Mercutio. The photographs also show Peggy Ashcroft as Juliet, Edith Evans as the Nurse, Alec Guinness as the Apothecary, Glen Byam Shaw as Benvolio, and Harry Andrews as Tybalt. Item #60107
