With an engraved frontispiece portrait of the author and a vignette title page. Also with an unpaginated glossary. Small print over two columns. Contemporary burgundy full morocco, with raised bands, gilt titles and decoration to spine, and gilt panelled decoration to boards. All edges gilt, with yellow-coated endpapers and gilt dentelle to turn-ins. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Blind ownership stamp to fly-leaf, first blank, frontispiece, vignette title, and title page. Black ink gift inscription to first blank: 'Thomas Booth | From his sincere friend | Edward L. Puxley | on his leaving Eton | Easter 1851.' Just a touch of spotting to plates. Crisp and clean internally. Lower corners bumped, with some light rubbing and chipping to joints and other extremities. Very good. A very presentable copy of the works of one of the most important Renaissance poets in English.
