Item #59910 Yesterday's Spy. Len DEIGHTON, born 1929.

Yesterday's Spy.

London: Jonathan Cape, 1975. [Spy thriller] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.224. Publisher's hardback cloth binding in pictorial dust-jacket. The jacket artwork is by Raymond Hawkey, who designed the classic 1960s James Bond paperbacks for Pan Books. Price clipped (as many seem to be), otherwise a lovely fine copy with none of the usual spine fade. Not a rare book, but certainly uncommon in this exceptional condition. With comparisons to Graham Greene and Ian Fleming, Deighton first arrived on the shady scene in 1962 and was described by Julian Symons as 'the poet of the spy story'. Item #59910

Milward-Oliver; Len Deighton Annotated Bibliography p.39.
