With three plates depicting snow flakes, a photographic plate of hailstones, two other in-text illustrations, and a frontispiece engraving of the author's house. Contemporary half vellum by BARBER of Lewes, with gilt titles to red labels on spine, and marbled paper over boards. Spotting to endpapers and blanks; otherwise a crisp, clean copy. Wear to extremities, with some spotting to vellum. Very good. A highly detailed month-by-month description of the climate during the author's residence at the Grange at the summit of the Beacon (Crowborough Hill), from 1874 to 1884, including many tables showing highest and lowest temperatures, first printed in 1885.
