Recently bound in tan half calf, with raised bands, gilt titles to contrasting orange and green labels, and further gilt decoration to spine. Marbled paper over boards. Top edge gilt; others untrimmed. A small tear to half-title. A clean copy, partially unopened, in an attractive new binding. Very good. Darwin considers the geology of various locations in the South Atlantic and Pacific oceans, including the Galapagos Islands, Cape Verde, Tahiti, Australia, and New Zealand, which he famously visited on his voyage on board the Beagle from 1832 to 1836.
