Together with two separate original artworks by John Rose showing the original design for the dust-jacket, one on tracing paper intended to be layered over the first, both mounted and ready for framing. Total dimensions 42 x 36cm. Toning and spotting to edges, with occasional minor spots and marks internally. Light handling, with some very minor rubbing and chipping to jacket edges. Design notes, handling and some tape burns to artwork, relating to its original function. Near fine. A unique presentation of the 53rd Crime Thriller by Malleson under this pseudonym, and one of many featuring the no-nonsense lawyer-protagonist Arthur Crook. Somewhat reminiscent of tough TV detective Gene Hunt, he sports "a bright red face, bright red hair and a bright red car," and takes an alarmingly direct approach to finding the truth. Item #59440
