Octavo (25 x 17cm), pp.[168] 601-800 [169-188]; pp.[76] 120 [77-92]; pp.[76] 121-240 [77-92]. With frequent black and white illustrations, and some in colour to the Christmas number. Presented in a navy quarter morocco clamshell box, with gilt titles to spine, raised bands and a fleece lining. Wear to spines and covers, as expected. December issue heavily cocked, with repairs to spine. Very good. This serial appeared some seven years before the book-form edition, published as 'Smith and the Pharaoh And Other Tales' (Bristol, 1920). Also including a short story by Doyle. Item #59419
