With six folding maps. Publisher's handsome green cloth with gilt titles to spine, black tooling, and gilt motifs to the upper boards. Brown-coated endpapers. All edges untrimmed. Black ink ownership to dedication page states 'Kindly presented by the author.' A clean copy with a light tobacco scent. Two maps in volume I are badly torn, with extensive sticky tape repairs to one. Other maps are also torn in the usual places, such as the joins and folds. Hinges starting in places, but they remain intact. Light wear to cloth, remaining attractive externally. Very good. Item #59177
