The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money.

The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money.

London: Macmillan and Co., 1936. [Economics] FIRST EDITION, first impression. Octavo (22 x 15cm), pp.[4] xii; 403 [1]. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles to spine. Pencil ownership to fly-leaf stating 'J. Miller | Moscow | 8/36.' Occasional marginal notes in pencil. Some toning to edges and endpapers. Light wear to cloth; spine a little toned. Very good. Keynesian economics had a major impact on modern economic and political theory as well as on many governments' fiscal policies. Economists consider him one of the main founders of modern theoretical macroeconomics, and his popular expression "In the very long run, we are all dead" is still quoted. Keynes dominated the Bretton Woods conference out of which came the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. A highly placed American official recently remarked "We are all Keynsians today". Included within "Printing and the Mind of Man." Item #59170

From the library of an Economist and Historian based in Moscow during the mid twentieth century, author of 'Soviet Russia: An Introduction' (London: Hutchinson's University Library, 1954).
