With 108 engraved illustrations, including numerous plates, and a frontispiece to each volume. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spines and uppers. Top edges gilt; others untrimmed. Illustrated endpapers. One plate to volume I heavily worn and chipped to lower edge. Armorial bookplate of A.W. Read to front pastedown of each volume. Blue ink ownership to bookplate in volume I. Moderate wear to bindings; spines sunned. Very good. Composed in Leigh Hunt's twilight years, and first published in Household Words between 1853 an 1854, this is a topographical tour of old Kensington, before its transformation into Museum Land.
