INSCRIBED by the author in blue ink to distinctive bookplate on flyleaf: 'To Eileen Cond | with my wishes | for happiness | Elleston | Trevor.' Also SIGNED in black marker to title page. Publisher's blue cloth with silver titles to spine. With the dust-jacket illustrated by Stein. Miss Cond's usual exemplary condition, with some spotting to edges. Jacket price-clipped and a little rubbed to edges. Near fine. A Brief Encounter develops into something altogether more mysterious. Well-known as a prominent collector of modern firsts, Miss Cond was also a correspondent of Ian Fleming, and the first Secretary to the James Bond Fan Club.
