Contemporary blue full calf for King Edward's Grammar School, Stourbridge, with raised bands, gilt titles to red label and further gilt decoration to spine, and the school crest stamped in gilt to upper board, and blind to lower. All edges and endpapers marbled. School prize plate to front pastedown, dated 1889. A nice crisp, clean copy with just a hint of spotting to first blank and title page. Head-cap rubbed, and spine a little toned, with some light wear to boards. Very good. First published in 1855, this historical adventure sees the fictional protagonist team up with the likes of Sir Francis Drake to battle the Spanish in the Caribbean. Item #59046
